In this post, I have
concluded brief info on the top 10 universities in UK (2014 – 2015). All words
or facts included in this post are from the university’s own website. So its
authenticity is out of questions.
“Oxford is a collegiate university, consisting of the central
University and colleges. The central University is composed of academic
departments and research centres, administrative departments, libraries and
museums. The 38 colleges are self-governing and financially independent
institutions, which are related to the central University in a federal system.
There are also six permanent private halls, which were founded by different
Christian denominations and which still retain their Christian character.”- Source:

"With more than 18,000 students from all walks of
life and all corners of the world, nearly 9,000 staff, 31 Colleges and 150
Departments, Faculties, Schools and other institutions, no two days are ever
the same at the University of Cambridge.
At the heart of this confederation of Departments,
Schools, Faculties and Colleges is a central administration team. It is small
because the Colleges are self-governing and teaching staff carry out much of
the daily administration at Cambridge."
